I'm Becky and I'm a cruisaholic! hahaha

Actually I married with 4 grown kids and 4 grandchildren. I work for a marketing agency. I am NOT a travel agent ... I just like to cruise with my friends.

Hi I am Sandy and this will be my first cruise. I have been doing Low Carb for a month and a half and doing pretty well. I live near Raleigh NC, widowed, have two children and one grandaughter. I an a business analyst for a healthcare software firm

My husband and I are excited to go on our first cruise! I have been low-carbing since August '08 and Jim has been since end of January '09. We heard about the cruise at the Duke Low Carb Support Group led by Adele. Just to have the opportunity to hear the speakers was something we couldn't pass up. We live near Raleigh, NC and are "almost" empty-nesters.

I am always excited for "first timers" because I remember my first cruise!! ... and I've been crazy about them every since.

Hi all! My name is Kim and this is my 2nd LC cruise and my 3rd total cruise! Last year's cruise was so much fun and getting to know everyone was absolutely fantastic! The speakers are not only top notch in the field but they are real people too! That in itself was worth the trip! (well that, the tropical ports of call, the food, the activities, the karaoke!)

So for all you newcomers welcome and get ready for a fantastic time!

Where are we on total numbers so far? I can't wait to meet all the new cruisers!

I'll find out on Monday or Tuesday when I get back. VTG has to go through every registration and then they send me confirmation.... then I can send out confirmations too.

When you go to the registration page YOU can click on "guest list" (or something like that) and SEE who has registered. It doesn't show any personal information, just names... but it gives you a list.

26 total cruisers so far!

Sort of 26 cruisers... at this writing VTG has not processed the registrations from last week, so I know there are more!

Hopefully she can get them all processed today and we can see how many are going so far!

Looks like we have about 32 signed up so far - not counting the speakers and their roomies! It's going to be great! WHY does it have to be nine months away?

Just found out about this forum. I have been searching Jimmys site for a cruise thread in the Discuss low carb section and finally looked in the free-for-all thread and found it.

So a bit of an introduction

My name is Raewyn 32 and my husband is Rowan 33 who will be cruising with me. We may bring the 3 yr old if the babysitting doesn't work out but since we have cruised with carnival before we know we will hardly see her. The two olders kids are easier to farm out since they are school aged.

We live in TX however as the username suggests we are from New Zealand and have only been in the USA 3 years.

I have been low carbing since 2007 and although I have lots of relapses it is the only way I can really lose some weight and feel great.

Looking forward to putting some names to some faces and the speakers of course. I am hoping to get a crash course in the science behind low carb as I am guilty of not really getting into the research that much. It works for me and I feel great which is all I need to know. Hopefully by listening to some speakers I can arm myself with some facts to throw back at the non-believers. lol. And also reinforce why I feel so good when low carbing.

It will also be our 10th wedding anniversary whilst on the cruise. (4th of March) so we thought it would be a perfect way to celebrate the day.

Just wanted to say "Hi". I'm another Debbie here. I live in New Jersey, am 57 years old, share my home with 2 dogs and 3 cats, and work as an IT Specialist for a major multinational computer services company. I have one son who is a lawyer, and I will become a first-time grandma this August.

I've never been on a cruise before as basically I never go on vacations that I can't take my dogs on too! I have a friend who has been begging me to go on a cruise with her for years! I asked her to me my "roomie" for this cruise, but next March is totally "out" for her. One of my sisters agreed to go, but now says she really does not want to and is telling me to get someone else to go with me - but no can do. My other sister gets dreadful motion sickness and will not even consider a cruise. Another friend who has always asked me to travel with me, but has no interest in cruising. All other friends are married and don't go on trips without hubbies.

But I can't find any way to pay for the room for this cruise as just a "single". Surely there must be a way. I can't be the *only* person who has no one to cruise with them, or am I the only one who is so nerdy?

I know of TWO people right now looking for cabin mates.
