I got an email from Amelie and she said that Carnival agreed to extend our $50 deposit rate until May 21st!

I also need to let everyone know that this is for "open" assignment of cabin. In other words, you check the box that says they can "upgrade" you if they need too. If you request a particular cabin number, then you will need to pay the full deposit ($200). If you have NOT gotten a confirmation from me, it might be because you need to go back and mark that box or pay full deposit.

Muster -- look in the closet in your stateroom, grab the life jackets, and go to the designated "muster" station. It's kind of like the "stewardess" speech on an airplane. They will tell you what to do in case of emergency, etc.

After muster it will be time to get ready for dinner.

USUALLY sometime BEFORE dinner, your luggage will be delivered to your room. You will have time ...

Naturally, tap water is always plentiful and free. Why not bring along a powdered drink mix such as Crystal Light for a flavorful and refreshing change? An insulated cup or mug makes it easy to prepare and keep chilled�cabin stewards keep ice buckets filled in passenger staterooms. Or, order up a pitcher of fruit juice from room service. Juices are complimentary and a healthy choice. Bottled was WAS $3.00 a bottle last year ...

Signing up for Excursions

I went on the site today and I saw where the excursions have now been posted. You do NOT have to sign up for these if you don't want to. There is PLENTY to do around town, on the beach, and on the ship. Excursions are GREAT... but not mandatory for enjoying the trip!

Hey everyone!!

Sorry that I haven't had a chance to check-in here yet, but with all of the year-end things needing to be done, things have been pretty chaotic!! I'm so looking forward to going on the cruise, meeting all of you, and having a chance to catch my breath!!

Texas weather is very unpredictible. Last year when we pulled out of port it was overcast and muggy and wet and chilly. A few hours out to sea the sun broke through and the water was beautiful. When we got BACK to port after 4 days, it was still overcast but a lot warmer. We've been having a little colder weather this year than we did last year, but is probably NOTHING compared to what the northern part of the U.S. has experienced! hahaaha.. it's a chilly 61 degrees tonight!!

In your stateroom closet there is a mini-safe. You will program your own private security code into it (easy w/ instructions). It is about the size of a large shoebox so you can keep your jewelry and money in there.

This part was the hardest. It was hot and crowded and lots luggage and the stairs were packed and the elevator wasn't working and people and luggage ... whew! Everyone was trying to leave at once... all 2,500 people!

My friends had put their luggage out the night before and went up to the Lido deck and sipped ice tea for an hour before they got off the ship. NOOOOO problem. UGH! That is what I am going to do!!!

On the "promenade" deck there is a set of computers. You can buy "time" on them. I bought $15 work of time but barely used it. I did post a couple of times... but I was mostly just too busy.

Gym & spa -- working out and scheduling activities

I got up in the mornings and went to the gym. I LOVED walking on the treadmill looking at the front windows as the sun came up. They have great equipment.

IF you plan on using any of the spa facilities be sure to schedule those FIRST THING because they book up quickly. I had the facial and it was unbelievable! Wow. Book early.

They also have a full hair salon. Many people make an appointment and get their hair done for the BIG night... book first thing.
